The Nigerian police have denied the alleged invasion of Senator Dino Melaye representing Kogi west senatorial district on Friday, December 28.
The police spokesman, Jimoh Moshood and spokesperson of the Federal Capital Territory police, Manzah Anjuguri, have both claimed to be unaware of the alleged invasion of the residence of Senator Dino Melaye by police officers, The Cable reports.
Moshood reportedly said: “Why would they enter his residence? I am not aware of such I will make inquiries and get back to you. I will check with the relevant quarters and command.”
While his colleague, Anjuguri, said: “I don’t have any information on that. I am not aware of it."
Recall that Legit.ng earlier reported that Senator Dino Melaye earlier Friday, December 28, claimed that his Abuja residence was invaded by scores of police personnel.
The senator reported the alleged invasion of his house in a thread of tweets via his official Twitter account, @dino_melaye.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Melaye had raised the alarm a few days ago against the inspector-general of police, Ibrahim Idris, claiming there was a plot to arrest him on Christmas day and kill him.

In a tweet on Tuesday, December 25, the Kogi lawmaker claimed the plan was to inject him to death.
Senator Melaye said the state commissioner of Kogi had been removed in order to perfect the plot.
