Emery tips Liverpool to finish the season unbeaten following their superlative form

- Unai Emery is confident Liverpool can go the entire Premier League season unbeaten

- The Spaniard is thrilled by the form displayed by the Reds who side currently sits at the summit of the log without defeat at mid-season

- Liverpool play host Arsenal on Saturday at Anfield and Emery insists the Reds are perfect model for the Gunners to emulate if they must battle for title in future

Arsenal manager Unai Emery is tipping Premier League pacesetter Liverpool to finish the 2018-19 campaign unbeaten.

According to Daily Star report, Emery insists the current Liverpool side are a vivid example of how he wants Arsenal to play in the coming seasons if they nurse any ambition of winning silverware in the future.

The Spaniard Emery also believes Liverpool’s decent form so far will make Saturday’s Premier League clash at Anfield a difficult contest for the Emirates dwellers.

At the moment, they are doing it and they can do. They can do that because they are doing it at the moment.

“I am also looking, with the coaches also, at how we are now and with the difference in the table before those years and with us and with other teams.

“The progression with Liverpool is clear. Three years ago, they were out of the Champions League through the Premier League and through the Europa League, because they lost against us [at Sevilla].

This progress is also one example for us, now, in our moment.

“But we need to be very, very demanding of ourselves to do this step quickly in our way. But we need also time, and sometimes the patience is very important for us,” Emery noted.

The former PSG and Sevilla manager is upbeat the game will be a different performance compared to last month’s impressive reverse fixture that ended in a 1-1 draw at the Emirates.

“It is a very big match for us, and for them,” he said.

“They are unbeaten this season, with a very big confidence and big performance from their players.

“I look at their progress over the last year and they are maybe in the best moment now.

“But for us it is a big challenge and a good test to know who we are, the difference between them and us in the table is clear and also I want to look at the pitch.

“We have one test against them at the Emirates, we drew but it was a good match.

“In Liverpool is going to be a different match to what we played here,” Emey submitted.

Interestingly, going into the game at Merseyside Arsenal are placed fifth in the Premier League log, two points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously had reported that Arsenal failed to beat Brighton and Hove Albion after they were held to a 1-1 draw in their Boxing Day clash at Falmer Stadium.

It took Gabon international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang just seven minutes to open scoring for the Gunners away from home.

But a 35th minute equaliser from Jurgen Locadia ensured parity was restored for the home team before the first half was wrapped up.
