NYSC coordinator tasks corps members on transparency in election coverage

- Enaberue asked corps members serving in the state to be transparent in the coverage of the general elections

- He stated that the corps has so far recorded tremendous achievements on election duties

Philip Enaberue, the Sokoto state Coordinator of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), on Friday, December 28, urged corps members serving in the state to be transparent in the coverage of the forthcoming general elections.

Enanerue, who made the call during an end-of-year celebration in Sokoto, also urged them to be ready for the general election challenges.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that he noted that Nigerians had accorded NYSC management and the corps members high regards, especially on election duties.

The coordinator said the corps had so far recorded tremendous achievements on election duties which earned it recognition from different institutions and called for its sustainability.

Enaberue reaffirmed the commitment of the corps management to continue to encourage the youths corps members to exhibit good conduct at all times.

According to him, “As soon as we resume from New Year break, we will shift all our focus to election exercise, which include training of both staff and corps members that will partake in the exercise. I, therefore, urge you to remain neutral in the discharge of your responsibilities.’’

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the police command in Nasarawa state said it commenced investigation into the killing of a NYSC member by some youths in Akwanga local government area of the state.

ASP Samaila Usman, the state police public relations officer, gave the indication in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lafia on Monday, December 24.

Samuel Makene, a 2018 Batch A corps member whose place of primary assignment was Government Secondary School Ubbe, in Akun development area, was reportedly stabbed to death on December 20 by some youths at the Akwanga residence of David Ombugadu, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
