Legit.ng gathers that Uwajumogu urged the people of the zone to massively support President Buhari's reelection bid, insisting that the president is committed to handing over power to Ndigbo upon completion of his second term in office.

According to the lawmaker, if the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, wins in 2019, it would take the Igbos' at least eight years to think of producing the country’s number one person. He said Buhari’s reelection bid is the Igbos' shortcut to presidency.

He said: “President Muhammadu Buhari will hand over power to Ndigbo in 2023. I am sure of that. The president is honest and he is committed to it.”

Recall that Legit.ng previously reported that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo said his kinsmen, the ethnic Yoruba, are those who will determine if a Yoruba person succeeds President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023 — that is if Buhari gets a second term.

Osinbajo appealed to ethnic sentiments as he met the Alaafin of Oyo in Ibadan, urging the Yoruba to work for the success of Buhari in 2019.

The vice president, argued that it would take a long time for a Yoruba person to get the presidency if Buhari fails to return in 2019.
