- Lionel Messi says he wants Pep Guardiola and Neymar to rejoin Barcelona
- Both player and manager had previously worked at the Camp Nou in the past
- Neymar and Guardiola won La Liga and Champions League title respectively
Barcelona captain Lionel Messi has said he wishes his former boss Pep Guardiola and Neymar will return to the club in the near future.
Neymar left the Camp Nou for a world-record fee of £200million in August 2017 after spending four successful seasons in Spain.
The 27-year-old won two La Liga titles and the Champions League trophy but the desire to step out of Messi's shadow is believed to have motivated his unexpected exit.
The Brazilian has been heavily linked to join his international teammate Arthur, who said he was praying for the rumours to become reality.
Messi shares the same opinion but holds reservations over the likelihood of PSG sanctioning the transfer.
"I see it as complicated," the Barca captain said in a wide-ranging interview with Marca .
"We would love him to come back for what he means, both as a player and for the locker room.
"We are friends, we have lived very nice moments, others not so much, but we have spent a lot of time together. However, I find it very difficult [for him] to even leave Paris.
"PSG are not going to let Neymar get taken away."

On the other hand, City boss Guardiola had previously claimed his only route back to Barca would be as a youth coach.
However Messi would appreciate the opportunity to play under the Catalan once more.
"Although it is difficult, I would like to work with Guardiola again," he said.
"He is one of the best coaches in the world. That's why I would like [him to come back], but I'm telling you that I see it as complicated."
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Barcelona legend Jordi Cruyff has send a note of warning to Lionel Messi concerning how Real Madrid's form dwindled after Cristiano Ronaldo left the club.
The Portuguese talisman ended his nine-year romance with Los Blancos in the summer following a €100million to Juventus.
