Why President Buhari enjoyed massive support of Akwa Ibom people - APC

- The Akwa Ibom state chapter of All Progressives Congress has praised President Muhammadu Buhari ahead of his campaign flagging off

- The party said the support the president enjoyed from the state is because he appointed the state citizens into strategic positions

- Akwa Ibom APC also assured that all necessary preparations have been made to host the president in the state on Friday

The Akwa Ibom state chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) said the appointment of the state citizens into higher political positions is the justification of the massive support and love President Muhammadu Buhari enjoyed from the state.

The party said this ahead of the visit of the president for the flagging off ceremony of APC's 2019 presidential campaign in Akwa Ibom, Vanguard reports.

Legit.ng gathers that the managing director of the oil and gas free zone authority, Umana Okon Umana, made the disclosure when he was briefing newsmen on Wednesday, December 26, in the state capital.

Umana said the state is fully prepared and overtly ready for the flag off of the presidential campaign ceremony on Friday, December 28, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.

He said: “So far, the feedback we are getting from our members, from all over Akwa Ibom, other states of Nigeria, we know that that stadium is going to be filled to capacity.

"Also, feedback from the people of Akwa Ibom state shows that they are very excited and enthusiastic and are ready to receive president.

“It is very clear that the support President Muhammadu Buhari enjoys from Akwa Ibom state is massive and we will be demonstrated further on Friday.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that President Muhammadu Buhari, would on Friday, December 28, flag off his campaign for second term bid in Uyo, capital of Akwa Ibom.

Senator Ita Enang, the senior special assistant to the president on National Assembly matters (Senate) made the disclosure on Monday, December 24, when he was briefing newsmen in Uyo.
