Juventus avoided their first Italian Serie A defeat after sharing spoils with Atalanta at the Atleti Azzurri d'Italia Stadium.

The Old Lady opened scoring through a Berat Djimsiti own goal after trying to clear out Alex Sandro's cross in the second minute of the encounter.

Duvan Zapata leveled parity for the home team in the 24th minute through a cool finish from the edge of the box with an assist from Papu Gomez.

Meanwhile, all efforts to see either side gain leadership before the end of the first half of the meeting proved unfruitful as they both shared the spoils heading to the dugout.

Eights minutes into the second half of the game, Rodrigo Bentancur was red carded after receiving second yellow card.

Zapata netted his second of the match in the 56th minute to put the hosts ahead for the first time in the game.

Cristiano Ronaldo came in for Sami Khedira in the 65th minute and leveled scores up for the visitors in the 78th minute.

And the goal ensured Massimiliano Allegri's men avoided their first Italian Serie A defeat so as they head into the mid season break.

They currently rank top of the table with 50 points from 18 matches - nine points ahead of Napoli who are second on the table.
