- Senator Ayodele Arise of Ekiti state has given the assurance on President Muhammadu Buhari's victory in 2019
- Arise gave the assurance when he was reacting to a statement by Buba Galadima saying president will lose out in 2019
- The senator also praised the president for not assenting the electoral bill, adding that APC and Buhari are committed to free and fair election
Following a statement made by Buba Galadima that President Muhammadu Buhari will be defeated in the forthcoming election, Senator Ayodele Arise has given the assurance on president's victory in 2019 general polls.
Arise stated this during a television show on Channels TV on Wednesday, December 26, 2018.
Legit.ng gathers that the senator, representing Ekiti state at the upper chamber, said there is a propensity for people to trust President Buhari than other candidates, adding that the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate has provable records of integrity.
According to the senator: “No arithmetic, there is no ratio by which we can conclude that any candidate that is currently running for this election can beat Buhari”.
Commenting on the readiness of the president for free and fair election, Arise attacked Galadima, who he described as illusionist.
He added that without signing the peace accord, President Buhari and his party are committed to a violence free election in 2019.
On the president's refusal to assent the electoral bill, Arise noted that the discrepancies within the electoral bill was a major factor why the the bill was refused.
He said: "We should lay a solid foundation when you have draftsmanship with such a huge error, and you expect the president to sign it, then we will be the laughing stock of the entire world."
He, however, called on the National Assembly to fish out errors in the bill and resubmit in January 2019.
