The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna state recently welcomed a number of key Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members during the ruling party's flag off campaign at the Old Township Stadium, Kafanchan, Jema’a local government headquarters, Daily Trust reports.
The PDP decampees were received by the ruling party's state chairman, Air Commodore Emmanuel Jekada (rtd), Hadiza Balarabe, who is the running mate of Governor el-Rufai and Ben Kure, the director general of the el-Rufai campaign council.
In his reception speech to the defectors, Jekada referred to the development as an indication of the growing popularity of the APC in southern Kaduna.
The retired commodore vowed that the party would carry everybody along with fairness and equality.

Moreover, Balarabe, on her part stated that women are beneficiaries of the el-Rufai-led administration especially in the areas of political appointments and project execution.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Muhammad Sani-Bello, a former gubernatorial aspirant of the PDP in the state had formally joined the APC.
Sani-Bello announced his decision to join the APC at a news conference on Saturday, November 17, in Kaduna. He said he consulted with different political parties before arriving at the decision to join the APC.
Sani-Bello dumped the PDP on Monday, November 12, due to what he described as unending mistrust between him and the state leadership of the party, and its governorship candidate, Alhaji Isa Ashiru.
