The message accompanying the vide read: “At Christmas we reflect on the humble, symbolic and divine birth of a young child thousands of years ago in Bethlehem, Judea; and the message of hope, compassion, salvation, reconciliation, forgiveness and peace that Jesus Christ embodies and conveys.”
As Christians all over the world celebrate Christmas, former president Goodluck Jonathan has felicitated with Nigerians.
In his Christmas message posted on his Facebook wall, the ex-president said we are the recipients of God’s grace in the form of Jesus Christ who is the reason for this season. He urged everyone to reciprocate God’s love for us by loving each other and loving Nigeria.
"The eternal beauty of Christmas is the good tiding that the Son of God came to dwell amongst us and that that singular act is worth commemorating because He has reconciled us to God forever.
"I pray that the Christmas spirit will reinvigorate our sense of patriotism in our political, economic and social life, because we as Nigerians can only win if we win together.
"We indeed faced severe challenges in 2018, but as we celebrate Christmas and our hope for tomorrow, I am convinced that God will bless our collective efforts and we will usher in better days of prosperity ahead as a nation," the statement read.
