Premier League giants Chelsea have reportedly given up on striker Alvaro Morata and the Blues are ready to go for the signing of Argentine forward Gonzalo Higuain in January.

Chelsea gaffer Maurizio Sarri is said to be interested in bringing Gonzalo Higuain to Stamford Bridge when the January transfer window opens.

According to the report by UK Sun, Maurizio Sarri wanted to sign Higuain immediately he replaced Antonio Conte at Chelsea, but the deal failed to work.

And now that he has lost fate in Spanish striker Alvaro Morata, Sarri wants a new sharp forward that can help the Blues fight for the Premier League title next year.

Milan have an option to buy the former Napoli hitman for £36m in the summer, but may be forced to pull out of negotiations.

Higuain scored seven times in his first ten games for Milan, but has failed to score in his last seven as the Italian giants have slipped 19 points adrift of Juventus.

On the other hand, Alvaro Morata has scored just seven times in 23 appearances for Chelsea this season.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey reportedly emerged as a summer transfer target for Chelsea who are lining up £35 million bid to lure the 27-year-old to Stamford Bridge.

The Welsh professional footballer has one more year left on his current contract at the Emirates stadium, and the Gunners could lose him for free in the next transfer window.
