Nigerian entertainers are known to complain about the government and some of them have decided to be politicians to enable them do something about the country’s problems.
Popular musician, Banky W, is one of the few celebrities that have decided to join politics. He recently declared his intention to serve as a federal legislator, representing Eti-Osa local government area of Lagos state in the coming 2019 election.
In a bid to publicise his cause, he printed banners which were posted all over the state. However, the singer was left disappointed after he discovered that some of his banners have been defaced by hoodlums.
He took to his Instagram page to lament. The politician wrote: “It cost my team and I sooo much in money, time, and effort to put our posters up in the community. So you can imagine how demoralizing it feels to wake up today and find out that supporters of my opponents went around overnight, tearing my face out of some of them.
Just plain sad. Are y'all that scared or angry about what we represent, that you must descend to this level?
It is well. God dey. We keep pushing. At least they can't tear the poster from everyone who has helped put it up online (God bless you). And hey, at least they left the party name and logo.. that's kuku what I need people to remember.
The Modern Democratic party is not just a political party platform. MDP is a movement. No matter how they try to stop or silence us, the movement continues. We can do this if we do it together.

Several celebrities took to his page to sympathise with him, including his wife, Adesua Etomi, who believes his opponents fear him which is the reason for their action.
