Joachim Low set to end international career with Germany, eyes Real Madrid

- Joachim Low will quit the German national team soon after poor results

- The 58-year-old won the World Cup for his native country in Brazil 2014

- Low said he is not ruling out a move to join Real Madrid if an offer is made

Germany national team boss Joachim Low has admitted he could be tempted to join Real Madrid in the future as he nears the end of his international career.

Low won the World Cup with Germany in 2014 and thrashed hosts Brazil by 7-1 in the semi finals en route to their cup glory.

However, their fortunes have turned around after failing to defend the title at Russia this summer when the German -machine failed to progress past the group stages.

German fans are now calling for the sack of the 58-year-old who despite his failures with team have been given another chance by the FA.

And things went from bad to worse after the four-time world champions were relegated from the UEFA Nations League without winning a match.

Low knows his days on the international scene is numbered and has confessed he would to love manage at Real Madrid.

He told German television network ZDF: “I realise that the major part of my time here is now in the past and I need to think about what I want to do afterwards.

“In my plans are to coach a club which I did before being national team coach.

"I would prefer not to continue in Germany, I think that my future is more likely to be abroad.

“Real Madrid? They are an interesting club for any coach."

The European champions relieved Julen Lopetegui of his duties after four months in charge at the Bernabeu.

Santiago Solari took over and was handed a two-and-a-half-year deal but Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has also been linked with the position.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho said he believes Real Madrid are waiting for him to leave Old Trafford.

The Portuguese boss is currently under fire and he is aware of the interest from President Florentino Perez to make him manager for the second time.
