West Ham star Marko Arnautovic has been ruled out of action is out until the New Year after suffering a hamstring injury in the Hammers 3-1 win over Cardiff City on Tuesday, December 4.

The encounter which took place at London stadium saw the 29-year-old limp out in the first stanza of the game.

According to The Mirror report, effort to carry out a scan analysis to further determine the extent of the injury proved abortive on Wednesday.

But club medics could not carry out the scheduled test because the affect area was still inflamed.

However, they are not giving up as they have arranged another scan for Arnautovi for Thursday, December 6.

Interestingly, Hammers fans were already in celebration mood following Andy Carroll’s return to fitness, after three months on the sidelines.

In addition, they were also thrilled by the form displayed by 2-goal hero Lucas Perez, who netted a brace against Cardiff on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously had reported that Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho reportedly asked the club's chief to sign West Ham striker Marko Arnautovic in the January transfer window.

According to a UK Metro report, Mourinho was keen to sign the Austrian during the summer transfer window but did not submit a bid.

However, the Sunday Mirror now reports that Mourinho believes Arnautovic can provide more competition upfront, and possibly replace misfiring Romelu Lukaku.
