Breaking: 45 parties adopt Atiku as presidential candidate

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 elections was on Wednesday, December 5, endorsed by the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP).

The coalition comprises the main opposition PDP and 45 other opposition parties.

Formal adoption of the former vice president by the parties was disclosed by Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, a former governor of Osun state and chairman of the coalition at the opening of a meeting of the national chairmen of parties involved.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that former president, Goodluck Jonathan, called on Sokoto people and the rest of the northwest to vote for Atiku Abubakar in the 2019 presidential election saying he is the only one that can make them eat three times daily.

The former president made this call at the flag-off of the 2019 presidential election campaign by the PDP on Monday, December 3. Jonathan said the people should vote for Atiku “so that all of us will have food to eat”.

He said: “We have seen four presidents, from Obasanjo to our late brother, Yar’Adua, to myself, and to the current president. You have seen how the various presidents and the various parties have worked, and one thing that is very clear is that PDP is still the number one party."
