The federal government has announced that the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) on Thursday, November 29, commenced its recruitment registration exercise for constables, Punch reports.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported that President Muhammadu Buhari had approved Enhanced Salary Structure for the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
The president made the declaration after meeting with members of the Police Service Commission (PSC) on Monday, November 26, at the State House, Abuja. President Buhari met with the board of PSC, led by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris.
In a series of tweets by Garba Shehu, the SSA on media and publicity, President Buhari said that his administration will continue to give attention to the welfare and operational needs of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) with a view to restoring its lost primacy in the internal security framework of the country.
In a related report, Legit.ng gathered that the Police Service Commission (PSC) on Monday, November 26, commended Buhari over his commitment towards enhancing the welfare of officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
Moreover, the NPF had warned the masses to be wary of people seeking for money or pretending to be agents in charge of the force recruitment.
The police released a list of requirements and approved method of applying to the force on its official Facebook page on Thursday, November 29.

Retired Justice Clara Ogunbiyi, a commissioner in PSC, gave the commendation in her speech to State House correspondents after a delegation from the commission had a closed-door meeting with Buhari at the Presidential Villa.
She said that police personnel should be encouraged in terms of welfare for them to perform maximally.
