The race to win the English Premier League prestigious Golden Boot award is on with players netting goals to claim the award.

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah won the last season's edition after scoring 32 goals and breaking the Premier League goals record.

The Egyptian forward is however seeking to reclaim the title he won in his debut season at Anfield last term.

However, he is facing stiff competition from Chelsea forward Eden Hazard, Man City star Sergio Aguero and Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who currently lead the the pack.

Following his thunderous strike against Man United in the Manchester derby on Sunday, November 11 at Etihad, Aguero is topping the goal scoring charts with eight goals to his name.

Hazard is joint second with Aubameyang, having notched seven goals each after a blistering start to the campaign with their respective clubs.

Tottenham Hotspurs top marksman, Harry Kane and Mo Salah rank third with six goals each alongside six other Premier League stars who include Manchester United's Anthony Martial and Liverpool's Sadio Mane.

Brighton's Glenn Murray and Bournemouth's Callum Wilson have emerged as unlikely contenders for the Golden Boot award as the duo continue enjoying an impressive start to the season.
