- Man City winger Raheem Sterling has extended his stay with the Premier League champions until 2023
- The 23-year-old's new deal will see him pocket about £275,000-a-week for three and half years
- Sterling has already netted seven times this term as Real Madrid kept vigil on his progress at Etihad
Manchester City star Raheem Sterling has signed a new massive deal to remain at the Premier League champions until 2023.
According to the Mirror report, the new contract is a huge boost for the Three Lions forward ahead of the Manchester derby on Sunday, November 11 at the Etihad Stadium.
A breakdown of the deal shows that the 23-year-old winger will earn about £275,000-a-week for the three-and-half years the contract will run.
Sterling has netted seven times with five assists in the current campaign for the Pep Guardiola tutored-side, and is also on the radar of top Europe's clubs, including Real Madrid.
However, the England international opted to remain under the tutelage of Guardiola, as they continue preparations for Sunday’s derby clash with Manchester United.
Reacting after signing the dotted lines Sterling said: “I’m delighted to sign. My development here has been incredible. I felt from the minute I got here it was the right choice for me. It’s really paid off for me and I’m really grateful.”

On his part, Guardiola wasted no time in applauding the winger, but was quick to add there is more to learn.
“Raheem is a top player and he's in incredible form,” said Guardiola. “He's sharp, fast, clever, always fighting, decisive and he can play both sides.
“But still, with the young guys like him and Leroy Sane, I feel they can improve.”
Interestingly, Sterling was one of City's top performers’ last campaign, scoring 23 goals as the Citizens claimed the Premier League silverware.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously had reported that Premier League champions Manchester City are reportedly struggling to reach a new agreement with their star winger Raheem Sterling.
The England international joined the Citizens in 2015 in a five year deal valued around £44 million.
His current deal with the Etihad Stadium outfit will run out in the summer of 2020 but will only sign a new deal if he is offered an improved contract.
