Cloudy, thundery weather to prevail on Saturday, November 10 - NiMet

- NiMet has predicted cloudy and sunny weather conditions with prospects of scattered thunderstorms over most parts of Nigeria

- It also predicted partly cloudy to cloudy skies over the central cities with morning thundery activities over Lokoja, Ilorin

- The agency predicted that northern states would experience sunny conditions throughout the forecast period

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy and sunny weather conditions with prospects of scattered thunderstorms over most parts of Nigeria on Saturday.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook on Friday, in Abuja, predicted partly cloudy to cloudy skies over the central cities with morning thundery activities over Lokoja, Ilorin, Makurdi and Lafia.

It added that partly cloudy to cloudy skies were expected throughout the entire region later in the day with day and night temperatures of 29 to 36 and 12 to 24 degrees celsius respectively, News Agency of Nigeria reports.

The agency predicted that northern states would experience sunny conditions throughout the forecast period with day and night temperatures of 35 to 38 and 13 to 21 degrees celsius respectively.

According to NiMet, southern states will experience scattered thunderstorms over Ado-Ekiti, Osogbo, Enugu, Owerri, Lagos, Port-Harcourt, Calabar, Eket, Umuahia, Abeokuta and Ibadan axis during the afternoon and evening hours.

“Southern states will also have day and night temperatures in the range of 28 to 31 and 21 to 23 degrees celsius respectively.

“Sunny conditions are expected over the Northern states and prospects of thundery activities over some parts of the central cities with scattered thunderstorms over the Southern part of the country in the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted.
