- A coalition of civil society organisations has decried any fictitious allegations ahead of 2019 general elections
- The coalition alleged that PDP has mapped out plans to brainwash Nigerians over the elections
- The secretary general of the group, Patience Daniel, claimed that it is wrong for the electorate to be misled by any political party
A coalition of civil society organisations under the aegis of Save Nigeria Network (SNN) raised the alert that Peoples Democratic Party has perfected plans to win 2019 general elections through false statements.
The secretary general of the group, Patience Daniel, made this known on Friday, November 9.
Daniel said: “We want to alert Nigerians to a plot that has been hatched by the PDP to concoct lies, manufacture falsehood and distort facts in its campaign for the 2019 presidential and other elections using some key government agencies and parastatals.

“We are raising this alarm because we believe that it is wrong for the electorate to be misled into deciding what candidate to vote for based on falsehood since this has the potential to distort the outcomes of the elections in ways that jeopardise Nigeria’s democracy.''
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that President Buhari has berated the Nigerian elite for their silence during the alleged misrule and indifferent demonstration of acute leadership failure during the PDP's reign for 16 years between 1999 and 2015.
The president raised eyebrow against what he described as general hypocrisy of Nigeria's elite class, adding that those who are fast to pick errors from his government were the mischievous set of people arm-folding themselves during the PDP's reign.
