BREAKING: Buhari, Amosun meet again in Aso Rock

- President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state are holding a meeting in Aso Rock

- The meeting is believed to be aimed at resolving the internal crisis of the APC after its controversial primaries

- Amosun has been accused of being one of those calling for the sack of Adams Oshiomhole, the party's national chairman

President Muhammadu Buhari and the Ogun state governor, Ibikunle Amosun, are meeting again at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Amosun is one of the governors elected on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) aggrieved by the outcome of the party’s primary elections, Punch reports.

The party’s national working committee refused to recognise his preferred candidate for the governorship race.

The meeting was believed to be a continuation of efforts aimed at resolving the crisis that trailed the primary elections of the APC across the country.

Amosun, Rochas Okorocha (Imo) and Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo have been said to be one of those spearheading the campaign for the removal of Adams Oshiomhole as the party’s national chairman for the crisis-rocking primaries.

However, Amosun in an interview with State House correspondents on Thursday, November 8, denied being responsible for Oshiomhole’s reported arrest and interrogation by the Department of State Services (DSS).

Asked about claims he and Okorocha planned Comrade Adams Oshiomhole’s investigation, Amosun said: “I think you are probably giving me an oversight role and I am not a security person, so clearly I think that question will not be for me.

“I don’t have to hide under a finger to fight. If there is need for me to put my views across, you know me by now that I will do it.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the governors against Oshiomhole’s removal were the ones in the camp of the party’s national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

They were named as Akinwunmi Ambode; Osun state governor, Rauf Aregbesola; and Oyo state governor, Abiola Ajimobi. While the news-outlet named Ogun state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun and Ondo state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu as governors against Oshiomhole.

Amosun and Akeredolu were however said to be wooing Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti state to their side.
