Matters of love can be very complicated sometimes especially if the family and friends are not in support of the relationship.
In Africa, particularly in Nigeria, parents have to give consent before a couple can get married. Sometimes this might cause friction and heartbreak if the kids are not in support of their parent's decision.
A Nigerian lady, who prefers to be nameless, reached out to Legit.ng to share her plight and ask for readers’ advice.
According to the woman, her mother called off the engagement with her lover after discovering that he has three kids from a former marriage.
The heartbroken lady explained that she had been engaged since 2017 and that she and her fiance were about to pick a wedding date. However everything changed after the bride-to-be’s mother discovered that her partner is a divorcee with three children.
The lady further explained that she and her fiance are still very much in love and don’t know the next action to take seeing as all efforts to plead with her mom fell on deaf ears.
She finally explained that the situation as greatly affected her fiance who has lost weight over the matter.
