University of Medical Sciences is situated in Ondo city, the institution was established in 2015 by the government of Ondo State. This is one of three specialized medical universities in Africa, vice chancellor of the university is Professor Friday Okonofua, he is a professor of gynecology and the founder of Women Health and Action Research Centre.

The university has five faculties:
