The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has reportedly appointed Mr Issa-Onilu as the new spokesperson of the party.
Premium Times reports that Issa-Onilu confirmed the appointment even though an official statement is yet to be released to the effect.
The new spokesperson who is from Ilorin in Kwara state came second behind Mr Bolaji Abdullahi in the original election for the position of national publicity secretary of the ruling party.
Mr Issa-Onilu will be taking over from the acting spokesperson, Yekeen Nabena, who will now revert to his position as deputy national publicity secretary of the party.
Recall that following the resignation of Bolaji Abdullahi who defected to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, Yekeen Nabena took the spokesperson’s position in interim capacity.
Issa-Onilu is a graduate of Mass Communication from the University of Lagos. He also holds MS Certificate in Integrated Marketing Communications from West Virginia University, Virginia, U.S.A.

Abdullahi succeeds Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who was sworn in as the Minister of Information and Culture in 2015.
