I'm the only rapper in Nigeria right now - Yung6ix

It is important to encourage oneself even when the chips are down. Nigerian rappers have been known to make statements that show they are the best thing to happen to music. Perhaps this is a strategy on their part to get their fans to believe it too.

Nigerian rapper Onome Onokohwomo, better known as Yung6ix, started to become a known name in the music industry after his cover to fellow rapper Ice Prince’s Oleku went viral.

Since then he has worked with other top musicians and is seen by many as a talented rapper.

However, in recent times, he seems not to be as relevant as he used to be in the entertainment industry, so it came as a surprise when he described himself as the only rapper in Nigeria at the moment because he is the only one doing modern rap music.

In a recent interview with Hip TV, when the rapper was asked which Nigerian rappers inspire his music, he said that he is the only music artiste in the country doing modern day rap music.
