Real Madrid star, Karim Benzema has pleaded with French Football Federation president Noel Le Graet to leave him alone, in response to a statement credited to the football administrator.

According to onefootball.com report citing Ouest-France, the 76-year-old Le Graet on Wednesday claimed that the Los Blancos forward is ‘finished’, suggesting he has nothing more, to offer to the France national team, Les Bleus.

Interestingly, Benzema has not featured for the French national team since 2015, after the Los Blancos striker was alleged to have a hand in a plot to blackmail compatriot and national teammate Mathieu Valbuena in a s$x-tape scandal.

"I have nothing against Karim, he has always behaved well in the [national] team, but I think he is finished with Les Bleus, particularly as he has been out of form for a while."

However, the court is expected to rule of the case in November, but reports in the French media are claiming that it could likely discontinue with the trial due to an involvement of an undercover police officer, who was linked with the alleged scandal.

Reacting via the social media, Benzema, who has featured 81 times for the French national team, pleaded with Le Graet he wants to be left alone.

"Mr Le Graet, I ask that you forget me and please leave me alone," he tweeted.
