Manchester United have shown interest in signing Barcelona defender Jordi Alba following his ordeal with the Spanish club, The Sun quoting Mundo Deportivo.
The Spanish international has two years to run in his current deal at the Nou Camp and was promised a new deal by former director of football Raul Sanllehi two years ago, but not offer has been made.
With Jose Mourinho presently desperate to add more depth to his squad in January, Mundo Deportivo claims the Red Devils could take advantage of Alba's situation during the next transfer window.
United are willing to sign a left-back with Ashley Young deputizing for Luke Shaw who has been outstanding this season.
Barca, on the other hand, have been linked with a clutch of left-backs, including a shock move for frozen out Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno.
Alba joined the Catalans from Valencia in 2012 and has gone on to win four La Liga, four Copa del Reys and the Champions League titles respectively.
