- the 23-year-old has improved on his goalscoring form under Pep Guardiola
Current European champions Real Madrid are stepping up their interest in Manchester City star Raheem Sterling.
The Spanish giants are monitoring closely the developments on the England international's contract talks with City.
Los Blancos are desperate to add more firing power to their squad with Chelsea's Eden Hazard also on their wishlist but they believe Sterling has the potential to become an instant hit.
The 23-year-old contributed immensely to Pep Guardiola's Premier League's title wining campaign last season.
The former Liverpool product has also improved his goalscoring form under the Spanish manager and Real Madrid are monitoring his remarkable development.
On the other hand, the Citizens are willing to extend his current £180,000-a-week deal which expires in the next 18 months but both parties are yet to reach an agreement.
The development has alerted the Santiago Bernabeu outfit who are willing to spend big next summer after their slow start of the new season.
The Los Merengues are also in a similar situation with Hazard who has not ruled out a dream but Chelsea are looking to tie him down with a new deal.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Manchester City ace Raheem Sterling is demanding a substantial £100,000 raise in his current £180,000-a-week deal that will expire in 2020.
According to a UK Times report, representatives of the Three Lions forward and Manchester City chiefs, will be locked in discussions over a new deal in the coming days.
