6 Nigerian artistes who have successfully sold out global concert venues

Nigerians are a very talented and hardworking set of people, and it is impressive when they achieve great feats on an international level. Some Nigerian musicians have taken music to the world stage to the joy of their fans.

In Nigeria today, music made by some artistes have been making rounds internationally and even placing Nigeria on the map of world music.

It is no longer news that some entertainers have made the country proud by selling out world renowned concert venues.

Legit.ng has gathered a list of artistes that have achieved such feat.

1. Wizkid

Singer Ayodeji Balogun, better known as Wizkid, became the first African musician to sell out a concert at the Royal Albert Hall in the UK. The ground breaking event took place on September 29, and it is no doubt one of the most iconic highlights in the singer’s career. The concert sold out two days before the actual event.

Wizkid has joined the likes of iconic stars, The Beatles, who also sold out the iconic venue.

The Baba Nla star also sold out the Skyway Theatre in Minnesota, on October 6, 2018. He is the first African artiste to sell out the theatre. He was also rewarded with a day set aside to celebrate him, called Wizkid Day.

2. Tiwa Savage

The pretty singer is no doubt one of Nigeria’s biggest female artistes. However, she is taking steps to be recognised internationally. The mother of one recently sold out her concert at the Indigo O2 arena in London, to the joy of her fans. Her estranged husband, TeeBillz, was very much impressed and he took to social media to congratulate her.

3. Burna Boy

Burna is no doubt one of the most talented artistes to come out of Nigeria. His style of music as well as the quality of his performances perhaps makes him an underrated artiste in Nigeria. However, the singer seems to be appreciated more outside the country than in Nigeria. Burna sold out his concert which held at Brixton Academy, O2 Arena in London which held on October 7. The crowd could not get enough of his performance as they sang to his hit song, Ye, among others.

4. Yemi Alade

When fans are looking for an energetic and rousing performance, singer, Yemi Alade, takes the cake. Yemi has proven that she is more than an angelic voice and a pretty face. Her performances are always energy packed and entertaining. Her concert which held at The Le Trianon in Paris, in 2017 was sold out.

She has performed across the globe and shared the stage with musicians of high repute.

5. Davido

The Nwa Baby crooner has proven that he is not just a rich kid with no talent. The talented singer has also sold out concerts globally. It was reported that Davido has sold out concerts in the UK as well as in South America

6. Adekunle Gold

Adekunle Gold is indeed blessed with a golden voice and his music is gradually getting international recognition. The Ire singer recently sold out his About 30 concert which held at the O2 Arena in London.
