Oby Ezekwesili says her party is fighting for the soul of Nigeria

The presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), Oby Ezekwesili, has said her party was going to give the 2019 presidential election everything because it is fighting for the soul of Nigeria.

Ezekwesili speaking on Monday, October 8, on Channels TV, said politicians in the country do not care about the plight of Nigerians.

The former minister of education and co-founder of the Bring Back Our Girls movement faulted the political class ruling the country.

“(2019) elections are going to be tough and brutal, but we are going to give it everything that we have because we are fighting for the soul of Nigerian,

“Nigeria is being led by people who cannot think big," the former minister said.

Ezekwesili urged Nigerians to join her movement, adding that the aim was to create a new nation.

“There is a strong apartheid out there for a new nation. We are going to get a new nation, we are going to walk the street, we are going to walk everywhere," she said.

“We are going to do what it takes. We know that even the divine is tired of seeing Nigeria fail. We are running to win. I am not running because I am Oby Ezekwesili, we are running.”

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM) has picked Pastor Habu Aminchi as its candidate for the 2019 presidential election.

The party at its 2018 elective convention which ended in Abuja, Sunday night, October 7, affirmed Aminchi’s candidature through a unanimous voice vote of delegates from the 36 states of the country and the FCT.

Chairman of PDM Chief Francis Igwebuike said the National Executive Council (NEC) and the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party would continue to uphold the ingenuity of its founding father, late Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
