Nigerian Army orders 29 vehicles for newly promoted officers

- Nigerian Army has ordered 29 vehicles for its recently promoted officers

- It said the move is to bring in more professionalism to the force

- According to Innoson motors, the vehicles will be available in 2 weeks time

The Nigerian Army said it has concluded plans to provide its newly promoted warrant officers new vehicles.

In a statement made available to, the Army said the development is a necessity to enhance professionalism in the force.

Twenty-nine recently promoted Nigerian Army (NA), Army Warrant Officers (AWO) will soon benefit from the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai's decision.

The general officer commanding 82 Division of the NA, Major General Emmanuel Kabuk, stated this during a courtesy visit to Innoson Motors/Vehicles Manufacturing Plant at Nnewi, Anambra state on Friday, October 5.

The GOC while addressing the chief executive officer of the company, sought to know the progress done so far in the manufacture of the 29 modern hilux vehicles ordered by the force.

He also demanded the time the vehicles would be ready and the maintenance required by the Army to ensure that the vehicles meet their expectation.

In his response, the CEO of the motor company assured the Army that the vehicles would be available in the next two weeks.

Meanwhile, previously reported that the Nigerian Army, on Saturday, October 6, appealed to the residents of Dura - Du district and its environs in the Jos South local government area of Plateau state not to flee their homes over a missing retired officer.

The headquarters of the 3 division of the Nigerian Army said it was aware of reports that the residents had fled and abandoned their homes and business premises to avoid being clamped down by the troops involved in the search and rescue operation for the missing retired senior officer.
