- Foluke Adeboye made a statement urging couples to consult their pastors before their parents
- Popular OAP Daddy Freeze slammed the pastor and wife to RCCG overseer for saying this
- Timi Dakolo indirectly retorts at the media personality, says he is a 'cut and paste' person
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Foluke Adeboye, the 'Mother-in-Israel' of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), made a statement during a session with a crowd of young people at the annual youth convention.
The statement which was posted on the official Twitter page of the church read thus: "There should be no confusion in the house of God. You have to go to your Pastor first to consult for marriage before your parent.”
These words said by the wife of Enoch Adeboye, overseer of the renowned church, generated a lot of controversy online with many people saying it was not appropriate to place one's pastor before the parents.
Popular OAP Daddy Freeze also weighed in on the matter by sharing several series of post where he slammed and threw several jabs at the woman for her statements. The Nigerian-Romanian 'online pastor' wove the words which he considered very wrong into several themes.
He also went on to question the place of the pastor's wife in a church. According to him, the fact that God ordains a person to lead an assembly does not exactly mean that the entire family has also been called. This led him to quote a scriptural verse that stated that women should not speak in a church.

Daddy Freeze went on to make this statement on his social media handles: “Are these people beginning to manifest early signs of senility? These teachings have no recourse to the Bible! Jesus himself said you shouldn’t give money meant for your parents to the temple, let alone this trash. I hope these people have access to the wealth and the airplane she and her husband are flying, when they have finished helping them take all these decisions for them? ~FRZ”
This must have been the last straw that broke the back of many people because the media personality was lambasted for insinuating that Foluke Adeboye was senile. Timi Dakolo, one of the most respected and popular Nigerian singers, also took to his Instagram page to put the controversy around the pastor to rest once and for all.

In his address, he indirectly picked on Daddy Freeze and said the OAP simply engages in 'cut and paste' to remain relevant. He also shared a more lengthy version of the sermon given by the 70-year-old woman.
"THIS IS CONTEXT WITH WHICH MUMMY @pastorfoluadeboye SAID WHAT SHE SAID, ALL THIS CUT AND PASTE PEOPLE TRYING TO STAY RELEVANT ,ALWAYS PICKING QUOTES OUT OF CONTEXT TO SLANDER AND BELITTLE PEOPLE.ONLY A PERSON WITH LOW SELF ESTEEM WILL EXHIBIT SUCH ATTRIBUTE.THERE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG IN WHAT SAID,SEEKING SPIRITUAL COUNCIL FIRST DOESN’T MEAN YOUR PARENTS ARE IRRELEVANT.FOR MARRIAGE IS A VERY IMPORTANT SPIRITUAL UNION.WE ALL NEED SPIRITUAL GUIDANCE ."
