- Dybala believes Modric will beat Ronaldo to Ballon d'Or
- The Croatian beat the Portuguese to FIFA The Best player
- The Argentine scored a hat-trick in the Champions League
Cristiano Ronaldo's Juventus teammate Paulo Dybala has said the Portuguese ace will not win Ballon d'Or because of Luka Modric.
The 33-year-old helped Real Madrid win their third consecutive Champions League title last season in Kyiv.
The former Manchester United winger scored 44 goals in all competition last campaign for Los Blancos including 15 Champions League strikes.
Ronaldo is one of the favourite to win the award alongside rival, Lionel Messi, Modric and Kylian Mbappe.
But Dybala does not believe his new teammate will win the individual award for the sixth time asking.
“Ronaldo? He is a simple person and when you watch him on tv or social media he looks different,” he said.
“He is just like us, he is 100% focused on every training and he likes to make jokes, especially with Cancelo.
“He always tells him that he already speaks better Italian than him.
“Varane should win it for the trophies that he won but I think Modric will win it, he has already won The Best FIFA award.”
Dybala went on to say that he believed Juventus should have lifted the trophy last season.
“Last year Juventus were the best team. We lost against Real Madrid but they didn’t prove to be better than us.
“If we had qualified against them we’d win the title, there wasn’t a better team than Juventus.”
