Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Demoratic Party (PDP) met at the Rivers state Government House ahead of the party's national convention on October 6 and agreed not to back any particular aspirant in the presidential primaries.
Premium Times reports that sources privy to the outcome of the meeting which ended arounfd 12am this morning, claimed that the governors asked all delegates to go and vote for candidates of their choice.
A source said: “They have just met, and there was no consensus on any candidate. The delegates are now free to choose whoever they want."
Two PDP governors are among the presidential aspirants and the othe governors believe it wouldn't be alright to support one's ambition against the other.
Another source who spoke with the press said none of the aspirants is willing to step down for the other.

Legit.ng earlier reported that five presidential aspirants under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Friday, October 5, in Abuja, signed a peace accord as the party heads to its national convention taking place in Port Harcourt, Rivers state from Saturday, October 6.
Those who put pen to paper to ensure that they remain faithful to the party irrespective of the outcome of the primary election, are Senate president Bukola Saraki, Governor Aminu Tambuwal, Tanimu Turaki, Datti Babba-Ahmed and Sule Lamido.
