Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa state has reportedly dumped Senators Foster Ogola and Emmanuel Paulker ahead of the primary election for senatorial seats in the state.

Ogola is the senator representing Bayelsa West senatorial district, while Paulker is the senator representing Bayelsa Central senatorial district.

A former commissioner for works and housing in Dickson's administration, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpor, is said to replace Ogolo as the PDP candidate, while the member representing Yenagoa/Kolokuma/Opokuma federal constituency, is also to replace Paulker as the candidate for Bayelsa Central.

Paulker did not obtain nomination and expression of interest form when he was told that Governor Dickson had already anointed Diri for the Senate seat, The Sun reports.

Legit.ng gathers that Ogola, who obtained the nomination form, told his supporters to ignore reports that he has backed out because the governor is not supporting him.

Some aspirants including the aspirant vying for the Yenagoa/ Kolokuma/Opokuma federal constituency seat, Udengs Eradiri, called for a level playing field during the election, adding that aspirants would resist any attempt by the leadership of the party to rig the primary election.

According to him, the PDP should have learnt its lesson that imposition of candidates would be counterproductive in the 2019 general elections.
