Presidency has cancelled the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting scheduled to hold on Wednesday, October 3, to allow members of the council participate in the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election process across the federation.

Vanguard reports that the statement revealing the new development was made in Abuja by the special assistant to the president on media, Femi Adesina

Legit.ng gathers that the media spokesperson for the president, in a two paragraph statement, made this known.

He said: "The Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting will not take place on Wednesday, October 3, 2018.

“This is informed by on-going political activities, particularly party primaries, in which some members of the council are deeply involved in various states of the federation.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that two governorship candidates emerged from parallel primary elections in the Rivers state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Direct primary election was adopted by the faction of the party loyal to Senator Magnus Abe, while the faction loyal to the minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, went for indirect primaries.
