Breaking: APC sets new dates for primaries in Lagos, Enugu, Adamawa

- The APC has rescheduled it primaries for Lagos, Enugu and Adamawa states

- The ruling party has also changed the mode of primaries in Enugu and Adamawa from indirect to direct

- According to the new time-table, the primaries in Lagos will take place on Tuesday, October 2, while those of Enugu and Adamawa will be on Thursday, October 4

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has rescheduled it governorship primaries in Lagos, Enugu and Adamawa. The mode of primaries for Enugu and Adamawa states has also been changed from indirect to direct primaries.

The information was disclosed in a press release made by the ruling party's national publicity secretary, Yekini Nabena, on Monday, October 1.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported that the governorship primary of the APC in Lagos was reportedly set to be moved again, following the intervention of the national secretariat of the ruling party, in the crisis rocking the chapter.

Legit.ng gathered that the exercise might be moved to Tuesday, October 2 or Wednesday, October 3, to allow the national secretariat solve a number of issues in the state.

Legit.ng also reported that the incumbent governor of Lagos, Akinwunmi Ambode, was challenged for the APC’s 2019 gubernatorial ticket, by Jide Sanwo-Olu, who has the backing of the party’s national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

The primary had previously been moved to Monday, October 1, in the hopes that a resolution could be found for the crisis between Ambode and Tinubu.
