- Alexis Sanchez is set to be given the boot by Man United boss Jose Mourinho

- The 29-year-old Sanchez moved to Man United from Arsenal in January

- Sanchez has not scored in five appearances this season despite earning £500,000-per-week

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is keen on offloading Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez as soon as the Red Devils find a suitor for the misfiring striker.

According to a UK Daily Star report, despite pocketing about £500,000 weekly, Sanchez has failed to score for the Old Trafford dwellers after making five appearances in the new season.

The 29-year-old, who made the trip to London with Manchester United teammates, was not considered good as he was left out of the club’s 18-man squad that lost at West Ham on Saturday.

Speaking on why the Chilean was not considered for selection against the Hammers, Mourinho admitted it was a tough call, based on “Options, just options.”

Interestingly, the Red Devils battled Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City to sign Sanchez during the winter transfer season in January.

However, nine months down the road, it now looks as if United’s chiefs acted in error in sanctioning the move, with Mourinho now considering an exit for the Chilean.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously had reported that Manchester United on Saturday, September 29, continued with their disappointing performance this season in the Premier League losing 1-3 against West Ham United.

After missing their Carabao Cup defeat against Derby, Frenchman Paul Pogba returned to the first team, but the ex Juventus star could not help his club from defeat.

West Ham United started the match on a good note, and it took them only five minutes to score their first goal through Felipe Anderson who was assisted by Pablo Zabaleta

An own goal in the 43rd minute by Victor Lindelof gave West Ham United their second goal as the defender failed to clear Yarmolenko's shot thereby directing the ball into his own net.

Englishman Marcus Rashford pulled one back for Manchester United in the 71st minute after receiving a brilliant pass from Luke Shaw.

United fans were happy and hoping their team would restore parity after scoring a goal, but Marko Arnautovic broke their hearts in the 74th minute when he scored the third goal for West Ham.

Mark Noble provided the assist for Marko as West Ham United won the match 3-1.
