The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has on Friday, September 28, resolved that its national convention will hold in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital.
The decision was taken at the just-concluded National Executive Committee meeting of the party held on Friday.
Recall that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) summoned its National Executive Committee meeting to discuss the venue for its national convention.
Legit.ng reports that the emergency NEC meeting held in Abuja on Friday, September 28. It was gathered that the convention was slated to hold in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, on October 6 but some members of the party had kicked against Port Harcourt, claiming that the governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike, is rooting for one of the presidential aspirants.
One of the presidential aspirants was also believed to have used his influence to break the ranks of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the party on the issue.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the opposition's Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was urged to bring the forthcoming special convention of the party to Asaba in order to “do good and just to all manner of men.”
This position was made known by a leader of the Delta state PDP youth, Anaborhi Matthew, in Asaba on Friday, September 28, in the wake of various controversies over the choice of Port Harcourt as venue for the presidential primary.
