It was earlier reported that a young lady who welcomed a beautiful daughter in the newly commissioned ultra-modern market in Sapele, Delta state, abandoned the newborn baby till she was carried away by passersby.
After several days of investigation, they were able to trace the new mother as well as reunite her with the baby girl.
According to Sapele Oghenek on Facebook, the baby was rescued after vigilante men at the market heard the baby’s cries and traced her close to a female toilet after following trails of blood.
The security men notified their boss, Tony Akpeki, who arrived the scene and notified the authorities as they rushed the baby to the general hospital in Sapele by 12 midnight on Saturday, September 22.
It was also revealed that the lady who delivered the baby later collapsed in another hospital due to the forceful removal of the placenta. The mother is said to have undergone immediate medical treatment as the family revealed she did that out of depression and that is not the first time it has happened.
Their Facebook post reads: “EDESIRI MEET HER BABY. This Na the lady wey born leave pikin for Sapele Ultra Modern Market some weeks back, wey we report to unu the other time.
