Since the commencement of Nigeria labour's nationwide strike, in a bid to compel the federal government to announce its figure and ensure completion of work on the new national minimum wage, many essential services are crippling.

However, it was more personal and frustrating for a Nigerian couple who got disappointed and stranded on a special day in their lives.

Speaking to BBC, the distraught groom-to-be revealed that himself and his wife had planned to be husband and wife for over a month but the strike has made sure to destroy their plans.

With no choice than to wait for the strike to be over, in order to get married, it's safe to say that their relationship journey is being tampered with by external factors that might just have the power to ruin it.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has called on all its members and affiliate unions to join its nationwide strike over federal government delay in the implementation of a new national minimum wage.

The strike was called due to the refusal of the federal government to reconvene the meeting of the tripartite national minimum wage committee to enable it conclude its work.
