The minister of information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed; the Ekiti state governor-elect, Kayode Fayemi; the Kano state governor, Umar Ganduje and his Jigawa state counterpart, Muhammad Badaru, have come together to celebrate the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Osun state governorship election, Adegboyega Oyetola, over his victory at the Thursday, September 27 re-run.
They were joined by the candidate of the Socal Democratic Party (SDP), Senator Iyiola Omisore and the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Rasheed Adewale, Independent reports.
Recall that Legit.ng previously reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially declared Oyetola as the winner of the Osun governorship election.
The full result was finally declared after a supplementary election in four local government areas of the state where the exercise had been cancelled but later declared to be re-run.
The result was declared following a keenly contested election between him and Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Meanwhile, the Osun state chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has berated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying the opposition party attempted to win by fraud.
While reacting to the unconfirmed results of the rerun election, APC’s director of publicity, research and strategy in the state, Kunle Oyatomi, said the PDP was unable to manipulate the result this time around, so they are crying foul.
Legit.ng gathered that he said APC had said that the PDP had made elaborate arrangement to rig the election through the manipulation of the card readers.
