The Nigerian Army has inflicted heavy casualty on Boko Haram insurgents when they attacked Garshigar community of Mobar local government area of Borno state on Wednesday, September 26.
Brigadier General Texas Chukwu, Army director of public relations, disclosed this in a statement released on Thursday, September 27, in Maiduguri, NAN reports.
Legit.ng gathers that Chukwu stated that the insurgents, who were in nine gun trucks, were repelled by troops of 145 Battalion deployed for Operation Lafiya Dole following superior power of the vigilant troops.

He said: “Preliminary battle damage assessment reveals that the overwhelming superior power of the troops devastated the insurgents, inflicting human and equipment casualty on the insurgents which forced them to withdraw in disarray."
The director said that the gallant troops regrouped after the fierce encounter and dominated the general area of Garshigar and its environs with fighting patrols.
“The good people of Mobar local government are urged to remain calm and be assured of troops’ commitment to provide adequate security in the general area."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that troops of sector 3 Operation Lafiya Dole deployed at Kekeno town, Kukawa local government area of Borno state on Sunday, September 23, repelled Boko Haram terrorists attack.
This was disclosed on Monday, September 24, by the director of Army public relations, Brigadier Texas Chukwu.
Chukwu said: "The terrorists who have suffered serious losses in terms of men and resources in recent confrontations with troops, came to extort food and other logistics items from law abiding citizens. During the encounter, troops successfully repelled the attack with superior fire power.
"The terrorists eventually abandoned the town after suffering devastating casualties and ran towards the fringes of Lake Chad. The gallant troops are currently on the trail of the terrorists."
In another previous report by Legit.ng, the Nigerian Army on Saturday, September 8, repelled a deadly attack on its troops by Boko Haram at Gudunbale in Guzamala local government area of Borno in the early hours of Saturday, September 8.
According to report, scores of insurgents in gun trucks and various calibre of arms stormed the town and engaged in fierce battle that lasted for many hours with the troops. The fighters were said to be with the Boko Haram faction under the leadership of Abu-Mosad Al-Barnawi.
