The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s candidate for the Osun gubernatorial election, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has pled with the people of the state, to not be afraid to vote for him again during the Thursday, September 27 rerun.
In a video message, Adeleke expressed gratitude to the electorate for voting for him during the Saturday, September 22 election, Vanguard reports.
Legit.ng gathers that the candidate, while communicating in the Yoruba language, however, urged them to persevere and make sure they troop out and vote for him during the rerun.
He said: “Thank you Osun people for putting APC to shame, despite all their powers. Do not be tired, do not be afraid to vote again and come out in numbers on Thursday. We must make Osun great again."
Legit.ng previously reported that the All Progressives Congress (APC) said Senator Ademola Adeleke will suffer defeat in the Osun state governorship rerun election even if he gets the support of the Social Democratic Party (SDP)’s candidate, Iyiola Omisore.
Kunle Oyatomi, the director of publicity, research and strategy of the APC in Osun made the statement on Tuesday, September 25, when reacting to reports that Senator Bukola Saraki had visited Omisore to woo him ahead of the Thursday, September 27, rerun poll holding in seven polling units in four local government areas of the state.
Meanwhile, Senator Iyiola Omisore who is the gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party in the Osun state gubernatorial election has said that his party has decided to form an alliance with the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Senate president, Bukola Saraki, of the PDP had earlier visited Omisore to lobby for his support before the APC also met with him.
Omisore said he gave conditions to the two parties that would determine whom he would support. He said only the APC accepted his conditions which is why the SDP will work with the party.
