Senator Iyiola Omisore who is the gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party in the Osun state gubernatorial election has said that his party has decided to form an alliance with the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Channels TV reports that Omisore made this decision on Wednesday, September 26, when he spoke in Ile Ife.
Following the Independent National Electoral Commission’s decision to declare the governorship election inconclusive as a result of the slim margin between the votes polled between Senator Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Gboyega Oyetola of the APC, Omisore had received chieftains of the two parties.
Senate president, Bukola Saraki, of the PDP had earlier visited Omisore to lobby for his support before the APC also met with him.
Omisore said he gave conditions to the two parties that would determine whom he would support. He said only the APC accepted his conditions which is why the SDP will work with the party.
The conditions include “a pledge to ensure motivation of workers in the state, payment of salary arrears in the first three months in office, equity in infrastructure provision across the state, the adoption of a local content policy for all projects in the state.”
