Paul Pogba's relationship with his Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has further deteriorated after video footage showing the duo having a back and forth at the club's training ground go viral.

The Frenchman was excluded from the Red Devils squad that got defeated by Derby County on penalties in their EFL Cup third round clash at Old Trafford.

Pogba was seen jugging into the field with excitement during their training session but his expression changed when the manager said something to the midfielder.

Reports according to Telegraph has it that the Portuguese tactician has already informed the World Cup winner to forget about his role as an assistant captain at the club.

In a video released by Sky Sports News, Pogba and Mourinho did not shake hands during their training session on Wednesday with the France international fixing him with a series of quizzical looks.

Pogba ran out to training and greeted other member's of United's coaching staff - including Michael Carrick - with a handshake, before Mourinho appeared to have a word in his ear.

The midfielder was heavily linked with a move to Barcelona after this year's FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Pogba captained United to victory to an opening weekend victory over Leicester City and produced a man of the match display that Mourinho described as 'monster performance'.

However, after that game Pogba said: “There are things I can say and there are things I cannot say... otherwise I will get fined.

After United's 1-1 draw at home to Wolves, Pogba also questioned the team's tactical approach to home games, a long-held criticism of Mourinho's Old Trafford tenure.

"We are at home and we should play much better against Wolves. We are here to attack," said Pogba. "When we play like [that] it's easier for us."

United have already lost twice in the Premier League this season and sit eight points behind early pace-setters Liverpool with the campaign only six games old.

Recently, Paul Pogba publicly criticized Jose Mourinho's tactics after their last EPL game at home which ended in a draw, and the Special One announced afterwards that the Frenchman will not captain his team again.

And according to the report by ESPN, Manchester United big boys have been angered by the decision with only a handful of players still backing the boss.
