The Borno state governor, Kashim Shettima, on Tuesday, September 25, ordered the immediate dissolution of the state Executive Council.
A statement issued in Maiduguri by the secretary to the Borno government, Alhaji Usman Jidda-Shuwa, directed all commissioners to handover to permanent secretaries in their respective ministries before September 28.
The SSG said the governor appreciated the commissioners for their services and contributions to the unprecedented developmental progress recorded by the administration and wished them well in their future endeavors.
He also conveyed the governor’s appreciation to all those who supported the commissioners in the discharge of their duties.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that some members of the Ondo state cabinet were allegedly set to leave the cabinet of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
The cabinet members also threatened to dump the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government in the state.
Sources within the Akeredolu led government said that at least 11 serving commissioners in the cabinet of the state government have concluded arrangements to either leave the cabinet to contest during the forthcoming general election or dump the party for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
