United States President Donald Trump has urged the Spanish government to tackle the Mediterranean migration crisis by building a wall across the Sahara desert.
The Guardian reports that this was disclosed by the Spanish foreign minister, Josep Borrell. He pointed out that the Sahara stretched for 3,000 miles. Borrell made the disclosure at a lunch event
Legit.ng gathers that a spokesman for the foreign ministry said: “We can confirm that’s what the minister said, but we won’t be making any further comment on the minister’s remarks."

According to report, the US president made his recommendation when Borrell accompanied King Felipe and Queen Letizia to the White House in June.
More than 33,600 migrants and refugees have arrived by sea so far in 2018 and 1,723 dying in the attempt.
Speaking at the event in Madrid this week, Borrell said: “We’ve sorted the economic problem, but not the migration problem because it’s an emotional problem and not one you fix with money. European societies aren’t structured to absorb more than a certain percentage of migrants, especially if they are Muslims."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that African refugees suffered another blow as the President Donald Trump's administration planned to lower the admission of refugees into the United States from the beginning of the next fiscal year on Monday, October 1, 2018.
In what was expected to be the lowest ceiling for refugee admission since 1980, the numbers would now be reduced from the current 45,000 to 30,000.
