Apologise before you crash - Okorocha warns Madumere, others

- Rochas Okorocha has called for an apology from his former deputy Eze Madumere and others ahead of the 2019 general elections

- Okorocha said it is important the Imo politicians apologise in order to save their political careers

- According to the governor, Madumere and others did not have money before joining his (Okorocha's) administration

The governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha, has urged his impeached deputy, Eze Madumere, a former speaker of the state House of Assembly and serving senator, Benjamin Uwajumogu; his brother-in-law, Chuks Ololo; former secretaries to the state government, Jude Ejiogu and George Eche, to apologise to him to prevent misfortune in their political careers.

The governor while swearing in the new appointees in the state said the above listed politicians betrayed him.

Okorocha also queried the acquisition of N22.5 million All Progressives Congress nomination and expression of interest forms for governorship aspirants by Madumere, Ejiogu, Eche and Ololo.

Recall that Madumere, in what may be considered an action in defiance of Governor Okorocha submitted his nomination form at the APC national secretariat, Abuja, on Thursday, September 13, as he vies for the governorship seat of the state.

“Tell Madumere, Ejiogu, Ololo and Eche to come back and apologise to me before they crash. Tell them to come back so that I may bless them. They had no dime before they came into this government. How did they get the N22.5 million to buy APC governorship forms?” Okorocha asked.

In an earlier report by Legit.ng, Governor Okorocha expressed optimism that his son-in-law and former chief of staff, Uche Nwosu, will become the next governor of Imo state.

He promised that his administration would finish very strong as it has already mapped out N3.5 billion to rebuild all the school blocks and roads across the 27 local government areas of the state.

The governor said: “This administration will end stronger, let me tell you the remaining 7 months left for me I will do the same I did in 7 years in office. I will repair all the schools in the state, I am sorry for some of you who say that I have destroyed all the roads. It is because of the unprecedented rainfall. I wonder if the rains are acidic. I assure you that we will put them in order."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that Okorocha asked a Federal High Court sitting in Owerri to uphold the impeachment of his deputy, Eze Madumere. The governor made the prayer at the resumed hearing on Monday, September 3.

Also, the attorney general of the state, Justice Miletus Nlemadim, opposed the demand for hearing to commence into the matter as proposed by Madumere’s counsel, Ken Njemanze.
