As part of the 58th Independence Day celebration, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has started aerial display in Abuja.
NAF called on Abuja residents not to panic as jets will be flying low. It said the aerial display will continue till October 2.
NAF clarification is coming as some news media (not Legit.ng) had earlier reported that fighter jets caused a scare at the National Assembly forcing staff at the complex to flee.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the NAF, the air task force of operation Diran Mikiya degraded several notorious armed bandits hideouts in Shamashale village and Rugu forest in Zamfara.
The air commodore, Ibikunle Daramola, the force director of public relations and Information, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, August 19, in Abuja,
“The attacks, which were executed in support of ground troops in Sector 2 of Operation `Sharan Daji’, were planned based on credible intelligence that the kingpin and his group of armed bandits were using an abandoned primary school in Shamashale,’’ he said.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that Nigerian Air Force winged 10 flying officers - on Legit.ng TV:
